Hi! I’m Ashley!
Simple Creative Farmhouse is a great place to find sewing and crochet inspiration, as well as homemaking and gardening tips and tricks.
My husband, Dylan, and I live in a little farmhouse on 4 acres with our 3 kids, 1 girl and 2 boys, in beautiful Iowa. I’ve always loved crafting, and after moving to the country to be with my husband and starting a family, it also created a love for gardening and homemaking.
About Me
I’m a small town Iowa girl, who never actually thought I’d end up living in the country. And now I can’t imagine living any other way!
I have an intense passion for creating things and working with my hands.
My first memory of crochet was when I was young (I can’t remember the exact age). My moms friend was crocheting and I was immediately hooked. All I did for a while was just create the longest chains that could stretch across the house. I eventually tried making a blanket but would get frustrated when the ends wouldn’t stay even (know that feeling?).
As I grew older I only dabbled here and there but would still create all sorts of things. Eventually I got into more sewing.
Now as an adult I love creating more than ever!
I started Simple Creative Farmhouse to share with you all the things I know and have learned over the past 7+ years, and all that I will continue learning along the way! My goal is to give you the confidence to make amazing projects and feel the joy that comes with making something with your own hands!
